The Savannah, an adaptation of "The Selfish Giant" by oscar Wilde and One Day in the Wood. A chance for the children to see what it's like to create a video, participate in a story and see themselves on film.

CURRICULUM VITAE
Brian Ayres is based in Italy where he lives and works freelance . He was born in London in Nov. 1944.
He trained as an actor for three years at Drama Centre, London, and then worked in television and theatre. He worked for a period with Word & Action, Dorset and then, throughout the 1970's, ran a theatre
group in the South West of England. During this period he began working with all ages, running courses, presenting plays, writing, directing, acting and working for theatre in education (schools and colleges) and was vice manager and manager of the local Arts Centre . At the same time he began to work with students learning English, first in England and then throughout France. After a session at Exeter university with teachers from all over the world he was invited to work in Italy. He has also worked in Spain and Switzerland.
He was a founding member of the Sedgemoor CommunityTheatre group which toured plays written by local authors, working with large casts of amateur and professional actors, as suggested by Anne Jellicoe in her book “Community Plays” and toured his one man show “Togger’s Peace” throughout England including performances at Glastonbury Festival.
He has recorded audio and videos to accompany text books and courses, particularly literary texts, and has written scenarios for course videos, including a series of songs and scenes for the video “Hi There!” for Loescher Editore, “Shakespeare: Reading, Acting and Performing (a “workshop” on Shakespeare) per la Loescher, has directed groups of students at the Università di Torino in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Tempest” , adapted and directed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” , “The Canterbury Tales” “Blood Brothers” ( a musical) , “The Phantom of the Opera” and “High School Musical”
for groups of students at a Liceo Scientifico in Asti . He worked with IRRE, Genova, on a Socrates project involving 8 European countries which produced a DVD and course book and he filmed and edited a DVD for IRRE summarising the work coordinated over two years with schools throughout Liguria.
He ahas also acted as a speaker for documentaries, industrial recordings , publicity, has dubbed cartoons and has experience as actor and director in theatre and as an actor in T.V. and film.
He was artistic director of “Crosslight”, an English language company that
wrote and presented plays with music and songs, together with Sharon Fryer. H
acted in the films “Non Ho Sonno” di Dario Argento, “The Etruscan Mask” by
Ted Nicolau, “Richard, the Rebellion” by Stefano Milla, “Il Mio Vicino di Casa” for the RAI and “Creators” by Piergiuseppe Zaia .
During the last few years he has: run courses for scuole materna, elementary schools, scuola media and secondary schools, sometimes finishing with performances or short films -including The Happy Prince” by Oscar Wilde and “The GGG” by Roald Dahl ; continued to tour; visiting schools in and outside Piemonte (from “English Meeting” for elementary schools to English literature for secondary schools); recorded English text books and voice overs to accompany videos; written and presented 24 videos for Rizzoli plus two Webinars (on U Tube); acted as speaker for a series of history videos and written a series of texts for videos accompanying a literature text book for Zanichelli . He has run summer camps in Roletto and for Scuola Elementare Silvio Pellico in Turin where he recently returned to to complete a course for 6 classes which ended in a series of short video films.
He continues to act as a speaker and actor for recordings and film (including the speaking statues of Parma and the apps for Art Stories), runs workshops, courses, conducts sessions of Spontaneous Theatre, poetry drama and “Meeting English” for children, young people and adults and is particularly interested in how language can be explored in a creative, enjoyable and personal way, both to express ourselves as individuals and to reinforce our capacity to function well in groups.
